Tooth whitening is either restoration of natural tooth shade or whitening beyond natural tooth shade.
Sometimes, restoration of the underlying, natural tooth shade is possible by simply removing surface (extrinsic) stains (e.g. from tea, coffee, red wine and tobacco) and calculus (tartar). This is achieved by having the teeth cleaned by a dental professional (commonly termed "scale and polish").
Lighter tooth shade can be achieved by chemical whitening, however it should be done by professional guidance in order to avoid permanent teeth sensitivity or deteriorating health of your gum tissue.
Brushing is timing. What does that mean?
It means you should brush on the right timing. Some people complain that they have cavities again and again, even though they brush their teeth everyday. What is the problem? Is he not brushing well? Or, does he have soft teeth?
Well, it is different case by case, but from what I noticed from my experience, people brush at the wrong time.

A tooth is like a tire. It never regenerates.
Have you seen a tire restoring itself? Have you seen a tire fix its hole by itself? I have not seen one yet.
When I was young, I had cavities. I did not tell my mother about it, because I was afraid of dentists. And, I always hoped that if I brush the cavity very well, it might go away. However, it never did. It became bigger and bigger, and eventually I had to go to a dentist. So, a tooth is like a tire. It needs its hole filled by a professional. As you wait longer, the problem just becomes bigger. Smaller cavities are so easy to fix, but bigger cavities need more time and money. So, why wait?
Root canal therapy is done when the nerve inside of a tooth becomes infected or dead. It is necessary in order to avoid any bad consequences from the infection such as pain and swelling and eventually losing a tooth.
However, it is better to avoid it if we can. When you have a toothache, it can come from several different problems. Depending on the problem, the treatment can be a simple filling or just covering exposed root surface. Also, after the root canal therapy, the tooth loses all the nutrient from the pulp which makes it brittle and easier to break. Therefore, it is very important to diagnose the problem before jumping into a root canal treatment.
The pain level is a good indicator for a problem, but it is no the absolute indicator for the root canal. You must have a dentist who will take enough time to make a accuate diagnosis.
